Leros is an island on the southeastern edge of the Aegean Sea in the Dodecanese. It has a population of 7,917 inhabitants and an area of 54 square kilometers, with a coastline that reaches 71 km, due to its intense horizontal division. The largest village has a population of 2,672, followed by Lakki with 1,990 inhabitants. The town hall and other services are in Platano. Leros is one of the Greek islands that have not yet been burdened with mass tourism. Its main tourist area is Alinda, other interesting villages are the fishing village of Panteli, Vromolithos with its beach, Gourna, Xirokambos, Partheni and Blefoutis.
