Naxos is the largest island of the Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea. Its shape is ellipsoidal and a mountainous volume from North to South crosses the island. In the backbone of this ridge dominate the Zas, Koronos & Fanari mountains, the highest of the Cyclades. The area is 44 nautical miles and its area reaches 428 km2. It is located right in the center of the Aegean, in the eastern Cyclades, having to the north of Mykonos, to the east Donousa, to the southeast of Amorgos, to the south of Ios and west to Paros.
